Every Vale & Grain piece begins with the material. We source solid timber and natural resin chosen for their character — the grain, the weight, the way light moves across the surface.

Wood

We work with a selection of hardwoods chosen for their density, grain pattern, and longevity. Each slab is assessed individually. No two pieces of timber are the same, and we treat that variation as a quality, not a flaw.

Resin

Our resin work is hand-poured in small batches, allowing us to control depth, colour, and flow. The result is a surface that feels alive — translucent in some lights, deeply rich in others.

Finishing

Each piece is finished by hand using oils and waxes that protect the material while allowing its natural character to remain visible. We avoid heavy lacquers that mask the surface. The finish should enhance, not conceal.

Care

Natural materials evolve over time. With simple care, your Vale & Grain piece will develop a patina that makes it more beautiful with age. Care instructions are included with every piece.
